Change doesn’t come overnight, or even a few nights. But it does come; and organizations like the Memphis Urban League of Young Professionals and Leadership Memphis are making it happen. Over the past year we have had the fine opportunity to support a couple of Memphis’ most ambitious and hard-working organizations that are working to change their communities and transform the city in relevant and lasting ways. Their legacies and work in this city have woven a unique story; and boy do we love telling a good story.
Memphis Urban League of Young Professionals
A couple months ago we had the chance to film the MULYP’s 2013 Empowerment Conference with guest speaker Aaron Arnold, CEO of Music is My Business. This all day conference centered around educating and empowering young professionals through seminars and insights offered by seasoned professionals in their various fields, who attested to what it takes to find success in today’s world. Prodigi Principal Chris O’ Conner even spoke on one of these panels alongside Aaron as a matter of fact, and gave some insight into the marketing and branding knowledge he’s gleaned from his own journey leading Prodigi Arts. Feel compelled to join? We hoped that would happen.
Every year professional and community development organization Leadership Memphis brings together some of the city’s most influential leaders to view Memphis through a different lens, and expose them to all the incredible work that goes on everyday. The 2013-2014 Executive Class kicked off with a three day tour and orientation, where we captured class members in action as they climbed rock walls, built Kinect sets from memory, and took a tour of the world-class Orpheum Theater.
