Last Thursday glasses shimmered in the dim light of the chandeliers and sounds of clinking silverware could be heard throughout the ballroom of the Holiday Inn as twenty businesses and five executives held their breath in anticipation as they waited on the final results from the judges of the 2013 Small Business Awards. We felt incredibly privileged to be asked to take part in the creation of this incredible ceremony that celebrated Memphis' most successful companies who are turning heads, and to continue our relationship with the Memphis Business Journal that has been building for the last three years through our production of the CFO of the Year Awards. From Barbeque catering companies to IT Firms, we captured some scenes from the day-to-day work of each of these businesses on film.
Though we came away with hours of B-roll footage and video interviews, the stories that we heard from the founders of each company off camera was a testament to why they were selected to participate in this illustrious awards ceremony. One of the most noticeable things that we witnessed at each location we shot at was the presence of a strong company culture that might not exist so tangibly in the enormity of a corporate organization or large bureaucracy. Each company started out with a strong and ambitious vision that set it apart from others in the industry, and today that dream persists in the way their employees work and relate to customers.
To bring all the video footage together, we created an animated intro for the ceremony and transitions similar to what you might see at the Academy or Grammy awards. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Memphis Business Journal to put on this incredible event, and greatly look forward to next year!
